We are thrilled to spotlight Desy Todorova as our incredibly talented Artist of the Month! Desy’s extraordinary journey began in Bulgaria and has since led her to Rutherford, New Jersey, where she continues to captivate audiences with her stunning work.
Desy’s passion for art was evident from a young age, with consistent drawing classes that ultimately prepared her for higher education in Landscape Architecture. Throughout her life, painting has remained a constant, earning recognition both in Bulgaria and internationally. For the past decade, she has also been deeply involved in art education, serving as a dedicated art teacher for the past six years.
Drawing inspiration from the architectural landscape, Desy’s work beautifully captures the essence of European cities, born from extensive travels throughout Italy, Spain, and other captivating destinations. Her practice transcends the built environment to explore the realm of childhood and children’s artistic expression, blending these themes to create a rich narrative within her work.
Desy’s preferred medium is acrylic paint, often incorporating intricate details using fine-liner pens, specifically the Sakura Pigma Micron. Her works display a mastery of color and composition, highlighting her unique artistic voice.
Desy finds inspiration in the distinctive architectural character of Rutherford and other charming New Jersey towns.
